Analytics
This site uses Google Analytics 4 to understand readership: pages viewed, approximate geography, and how visitors arrive. It runs through Google Consent Mode v2 with all advertising signals permanently disabled: no ads are shown, no ad data is collected, and nothing is used for cross-site tracking or sold.
Consent works by region. In the EEA, the United Kingdom, and Switzerland, analytics storage is denied by default: until you choose Allow, no analytics cookies are set and only cookieless, aggregate pings reach Google. Everywhere else, analytics runs on a notice-and-opt-out basis: it starts on, and choosing Decline turns it off. Declining also deletes any _ga cookies already set, and your choice is remembered for twelve months. If your browser sends a Global Privacy Control signal, it is honored automatically as a decline, with no banner shown.
To change your choice at any time, use the Privacy choices link in the footer of any page, which reopens the consent banner.
Everything else
This is a static site. The hosting provider (Netlify) keeps standard server logs, including IP addresses, for security and operations. Two optional features make client-side requests to third parties: the price tape requests public market data (CoinGecko, falling back to Coinpaprika or Kraken), refreshing about once a minute while a page is open, and the live headline wire on jurisdiction pages requests Google News RSS content through public CORS proxies. Both run in your browser and cache results locally in your browser's storage. With JavaScript disabled, the site works fully without them.
The contact form is processed by Netlify Forms; whatever you submit (name, email, message) is stored there and used only to respond. Nothing is sold or shared.
